YORKTOWN, N.Y.-- The Yorktown Community Cultural Center will open at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The center is the first to be activated for residents to seek shelter from the storm. Should it be needed, the town has secured two other locations as shelter for the storm. The second to be activiated is Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School, and the third is Mildred Strang Middle School.
No pets are permitted in the shelters.
Supervisor Susan Siegel, in annoucning the opening of the YCCC reminded residents to bring medicines, cash, ATM cards, sandwiches and other food that does not require cooking or refrigeration.
