Yorktown Police Nab Suspect In Bank Robbery

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police arrested Kerry D. Vanterpool, 25, of the Bronx in connection with a recent local bank robbery.

The arrest was made in connection with the robbery of the Putnam County Savings Bank on Lee Road.

Putnam County Savings Bank on Lee Road was robbed on Sept. 17 by two males wearing hooded jackets, hats and sunglasses. The suspects fled on foot with bags of stolen money.

Three suspects were arrested and interviewed in the Town of LaGrange on Sept. 22. Following the interviews, Detective Tausz applied for an arrest warrant for Vanterpool.

An investigation for the remaining suspects is still ongoing.
