YORKTOWN, N.Y. The Yorktown Town Board unanimously promoted two members of the recreation department to fill the position left by former Superintendent Jennifer Fava.
Brian Gray was promoted from his previous position as assistant supervisor of parks and recreation to supervisor, and Todd Orlowski was promoted to be the assistant superintendent.
Fava has taken a new position as the commissioner for parks and recreation for North Hempstead.
Were very proud that theyve decided to pick the cream of the crop out of Yorktown but weve got plenty here to replace her, said Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace.
Gray has worked for the parks and recreation department for almost five years and said he has traditionally worked with youth camp programs, senior programming and overseeing the whole department. His salary set by the town is $89,000 and Orlowski's is set at $85,433.
Orlowski, who has worked with the town for 8 and a half years and was previously the recreation supervisor, has overseen the sports leagues, facilities, pool facilities and other programs.
I have a close relationship with Yorktown, and I really enjoy the relationship Ive built with organizations, Orlowski said. And Ill continue to strengthen those relationships, and along with Brian are going to offer some great programs here in Yorktown.
