Yorktown Thanks Retirees, Celebrates Anniversaries

The Yorktown School district thanked those who are retiring from the district and applauded those who celebrated anniversaries working there.

“In a school environment children learn academic lessons in our classrooms but they also learn life lessons from us daily and I’ve always thought that they’ve carried the life lessons with them as they continue along on their life’s journey,” said Ralph Napolitano, superintendent of schools. “And so tonight I thank you for what you do for our students in the classroom for what you do for them in your offices, for what you do in the corridors of Yorktown schools…and most of all I thank you for preparing the next generation of competent and compassionate and considerate citizens who will change the world because of your guidance.”

The board expressed its gratitude to the ten retirees as well as staff who have been part of the district for decades.
