YORKTOWN, N.Y. - The Yorktown Town Board special work session on Thursday was devoted to the water district.
In addition to setting a public hearing for March 1 on the local law to increase water rates by $1.25 per 1,000 gallons to $6.25 per 1,000 gallons, the board was advised that this spring Yorktown will have to pick up 49 percent of the estimated $2.5 million to $3 million cost of a new storage tank at the Northern Westchester Joint Water works facility for the Catskill system.
Other water district ongoing activities and long-term projects were discussed at the meeting. For a summary of the meeting, click here.
