YORKTOWN, N.Y. A Yorktown woman was accused of damaging a Yorktown police car after she allegedly threatened to harm herself. She was charged with felony criminal mischief and jailed on $5,000 bail.
Police responded at 9:20 p.m. Monday, July 30, to a report of an emotionally disturbed woman on Strang Boulevard. Before being taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said, the woman, Anne Sinnott, 29, became agitated and unruly and kicked the rear door of a police car.
Police estimated damage to the door and window was more than $250, resulting in Sinnott's being charged with felony criminal mischief. She was arraigned by Yorktown Town Justice Sal Lagonia, who sent her to the Westchester County jail on $5,000 cash bail.
Sinnott is due back in Yorktown Town Court at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Shoplifting: A 21-year-old Yorktown resident was charged with two counts of misdemeanor petty larceny for allegedly stealing 10 bottles of soda on three occasions from Chestnut Mobil on Saw Mill River Road. Brendan Young was arrested Saturday, July 28, walking on Route 202 after he was described by store employees. He is due in Yorktown Town Court on Aug. 28.
