Yorktown Woman Charged With DWI After Crash

YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A Yorktown woman was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated after a two-car accident on Route 35.

Yorktown Police Officer Scott Sage responded to a report of a crash May 5 at 6:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. But police said one of the drivers, Susan Hardman, 48, of Hyatt Street, was driving while intoxicated.

Police learned later that Hardman had a conviction within the last 10 years of driving while intoxicated, which elevated the charges to a felony. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on June 7.

Fake money: On May 10 at 9:37 a.m., a caller from Chestnut Shell on Commerce Street reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill.

Rascally raccoon: Police received a report May 10 at 10:33 a.m. about a raccoon running around a gazebo at Yorktown Community and Cultural Center.

Missing person: A Summit Street resident reported 29-year-old mentally disabled daughter missing at least 10 hours on May 7 at 6:51 p.m.

Illegal parking: On May 6 at 3:08 p.m., police received reports of vehicles parked in no parking areas at Lakeland High School. Summonses issued.

Suspicious activity: A caller reported to police May 5 at 6:54 p.m. that youths were pulling a possible body down a driveway, Stoney St./Winding Court. Medic dispatched.
