The Spirit Awards are given each year to honor those who demonstrate dedication to the organization’s mission by providing inspiration, time, talent and other resources.

These are this year’s award recipients:

Ralph Rogers of Mohegan Lake is being honored with the Spirit of Caring Award. This award is presented in honor of a former Support Connection member who helped create Support Connection’s Peer Counseling program and other services. It is given to someone who makes a positive difference in many lives through the power of caring. Roger's path has crossed with Support Connection in so many ways, his involvement seems “meant to be.”

Dawn Bernitt-Perito and Susan Hope McCarthy, who are recipients of the Spirit of Hope Awards: This award is presented to individuals who offer inspiration to other cancer survivors. They have taken their own experiences and translated them into an opportunity to raise awareness about Support Connection’s mission.

The Spring Benefit is Support Connection’s second most important annual fundraiser. Proceeds help fund their free breast and ovarian cancer support services and programs.

In addition to the award presentation, the event will include open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, music and dancing. There will also be a silent auction and raffles with numerous valuable prizes.

Sinapi’s Ceola Manor is at Hill Blvd. and Route 6N, Jefferson Valley.
