Albert 'Abby' Curcio, 87, Of Yorktown Heights

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Albert "Abby" W. Curcio of Yorktown Heights died Sept. 27. He was 87. 

Curcio worked as an assistant superintendent for the Yorktown Water Department before retiring. 

He was born in 1925 in Bronx, N.Y., to Albert and Rose Curcio. He served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. In 1946, Curcio married Gloria D'Onofrio. She predeceased him in 1990. 

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christine Diamanti Curcio; a son, Thomas; three daughters, Donna (Joe) Panerello, Diane (David) Greaves and Debbie (Bill) Curcio-Ehms; a stepdaughter, Shannon (Tony) Fasce; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A funeral was held Monday at St. Patrick's Old Stone Church in Yorktown. Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights handled arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
