Anthony Paolicelli, 90, Yorktown Heights Resident

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Anthony Paolicelli, of Yorktown Heights, died Monday, Feb. 29. He was 90.

He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Yonkers, to Giuseppe and Antoinette Paolicelli. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Essex during World War II. He was a part of VFW Post 8328 in Yorktown Heights for many years.

He was active in his children's lives and coached Little League. He was an avid gardener who grew vegetables and loved to share them with family and friends. He became an artist, and his work was displayed in numerous art galleries.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Anthony Jr. (Missy), Vincent (Sophie) and Joseph (Catherine); four grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Eric and Emily; and a sister, Kelly.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank, Nick, Willie, Norman and Lucy. 

Family and friends will honor his life Friday, March 4, from 3-7 p.m. at Yorktown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church or the Fisher House Foundation.
