Carol Thompson, 83, Of Yorktown Heights

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. — Carol D. Thompson, a longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, died Oct. 22, 2016.

She was a life member of the Yorktown Heights Engine Company Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer at Thrifty Me for many years.

She was born in 1933, in Queens, to Clarence and Dorothy Hanf. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1951.

In 1951, she married Roger Thompson at the First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown.

She  will be remembered for her caring, loving and outgoing personality. She enjoyed the beach, music, painting, cooking and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Thompson; daughter Janice Giles and her husband David of Franklin, Ind.; son, George Thompson and his wife Kelly of Odessa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clark Funeral Home, 2104 Saw Mill River Road, Yorktown Heights. The funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery.
