Charles McTygue Jr., 79, Yorktown Civil Engineer

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Charles A. McTygue Jr. of Yorktown Heights died Sept. 16 at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. He was 79.  

Born March 1, 1933, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., he was a son of Charles Sr. and Rose McTygue. He moved to Westchester County and graduated from Westchester Community College in 1953 with a degree in civil engineering. 

McTygue married Rosaria Marcelli in 1954. After serving in the Army, he moved to Yorktown Heights and worked for Westchester County as a civil engineer from 1955 until he retired in 1995. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years; two sons, James A. McTygue and Michael C. McTygue; a daughter, Carol (Ed) Lachterman; two grandchildren; and four brothers, Michael, Thomas, William and Peter, all of Saratoga Springs. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia McGovern. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at Yorktown Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights.
