Charles McTygue Jr., 79, Yorktown Civil Engineer

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Charles A. McTygue Jr. of Yorktown Heights died Sept. 16 at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. He was 79.

Born March 1, 1933, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., he was a son of Charles Sr. and Rose McTygue. He moved to Westchester County and graduated from Westchester Community College in 1953 with a degree in civil engineering.

McTygue married Rosaria Marcelli in 1954. After serving in the Army, he moved to Yorktown Heights and worked for Westchester County as a civil engineer from 1955 until he retired in 1995.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years; two sons, James A. McTygue and Michael C. McTygue; a daughter, Carol (Ed) Lachterman; two grandchildren; and four brothers, Michael, Thomas, William and Peter, all of Saratoga Springs. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia McGovern.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at Yorktown Funeral Home .  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
