Dr. Sidney S. Leeds, 95, Former Mohegan Lake Resident

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. - Dr. Sidney S. Leeds, of Coconut Creek, formerly of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., died Sept. 14. He was 95.

Leeds was born in June 1918, in Staten Island, where he was raised and graduated from Wagner College there. He married and moved from Brooklyn to Cleveland, Ohio where he continued his education at Case Western Reserve Dental School.

After he returned from serving in World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters, he started his dental practice in New York City. In 1954, he built a home and relocated his family to Mohegan Lake. He opened a dental office in the home as well as maintaining his practice in New York City. He was a retired dentist. In October of 1991. After his retirement, they moved to Coconut Creek, Fla.

Leeds is survived by his son, Dr. Melvin Leeds (Dona); daughter, Jacqueline Leeds; sister-in-law, Bernice "Bunny" Forer; and niece and nephews; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Edythe.

Funeral services and burial were held in North Lauderdale, Florida.
