YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Frances Rainey Chapel of Yorktown Heights died Sept. 13. She was 90.
Chapel was born June 20, 1922, in Farmville, Va., to Dallas and Louise Rainey. She married Robert J. Chapel in Arlington, Va.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Johnson (Janet) Chapel, of Worcester, Mass., and Robert Bruce (Cara) Chapel, of Richfield, Conn.; a daughter, Mary Louise (Raymond) Scott-Ballan, of Yorktown Heights; a sister, Katherine Wingo, of Dillwyn, Va.; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Her husband died in 1981. Chapel was also predeceased by a son, Randolph Rainey Chapel.
Funeral services were held Monday at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Westchester, 540 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
