Frederick A. Bottega, 79, Of Yorktown Heights

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - Frederick A. Bottega of Yorktown Heights died Oct. 19. He was 79.

Bottega was born Dec. 5, 1934, in the Bronx, to Arthur and Madeleine Bottega. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1956. He worked for the United States Postal service for 31 years at Gracie Station in New York City. After marriage he moved to Yorktown in 1972 to raise the family. He was an auxiliary policeman in Yorktown for over 25 years.

Bottega is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughters, Kathy Turkewitz (Steve), and Deb Lawlor (Chris); and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Kulick.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yorktown Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the Yorktown Auxiliary Police.
