Gertrude Hartnett, 81, Of Yorktown Heights

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Gertrude "Trudy" Hartnett of Yorktown Heights died Thursday, Oct. 18, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was 81.

Hartnett was previously a resident of Yonkers for 47 years. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1949 and served as a secretary for the chancellor's office at St. Patrick's Cathedral. She married Patrick Hartnett on June 23, 1956.

She later worked as a legal secretary for nearly 20 years before retiring and attending Westchester Community College in Valhalla.

Hartnett is survived by five children, Patricia, John, Kathleen, Michael and Jim; their spouses, Rush, Kris, Robert, Molly and Dani; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecilia and Maurice Flynn; and a sister, Cecilia.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Yorktown Funeral Home in Shrub Oak handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10461.
