SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- Kennen Rosamonde Kinzler, 80, of Shrub Oak, died Wednesday, May 20, at her residence.

Kinzler was born July 29, 1934, to the late Robert and Rosamonde Pratt in St. Clair, Mich. She was a retired social worker with the Westchester County Department of Social Services in White Plains.

She was a graduate of SUNY Purchase, an avid gardener, reader and an advocate of human rights and social justice.

She was predeceased by her husband, Warner Kinzler, in 1972; by her daughter Frances Grandia; a son Karl Kinzler; and a brother, Robert (Gus) Pratt.

She is survived by her children, Mary Alice (Francis Xavier) Bracken of San Jose, Calif., Susan (Phillip) McBrearty of Oswego, N.Y., Rosamond (Carl Bespolka) Kinzler of Valhalla, and Frederick (Rachel Smith) Kinzler of Trumbull, Conn.; two sisters, Jeanne Pratt of Milford, N.H., and Joan Semrai of Wakefield, R.I. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamis, Amber (Gordley Jarrett), Corrianna Simon (Patrick) Grandia, Karla Bracken, Kennen and Margo McBrearty, Robert Kinzler and Carl and Olivia Bespolka; and great-grandchildren, Kenya and Nyali Jarrett and Brenden and Connor Simon; and her beloved dog, Zoe.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Hawthorne Funeral Home.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
