Lou Alice "Buddy" Baker Pierce, 91, Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Lou Alice (“Buddy”) Baker Pierce passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Saturday, Dec. 16.

Pierce was born in Corning and graduated from Northside High School in 1944. She developed a natural drawing ability and worked as a draftsman at Ingersol Rand for many years. She did architectural drafting for the Yorktown Town Hall where she lived for 26 years before returning to Corning to be closer to her sisters and ultimately moving to Connecticut to be close to her daughter and her family.

 She was predeceased by her son, Gregory Pierce and husband, Pier Pierce. She is survived by her sister, LeRae and her husband Kenneth Graham of Canandaigua, NY, her daughter, Marianne and her husband, John of Sherman, Conn. and her daughter Elizabeth Fish and her husband Lenny of South Sutton, NH. She is also survived by grandchildren Mike Pierce, Chris Pierce, Madelin Fish, Michael and Micayla Tarby, three step-grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was described as a loving mother to her children and a doting grandmother.

A memorial service will take place at the Sherman Congregational Church on Church Road in Sherman on Saturday at 10:00 am, followed by a reception in Buddy’s honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Animal Welfare Society of New Milford in her memory.
