YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Robert J. Variano of Yorktown Heights died Sept. 24 at Rosary Hill Home. He was 65.
He was born Jan. 8, 1947, to Joseph and Margery Paddon Variano in North Tarrytown. He worked as a security officer and also was employed by the Lakeland School District. Variano lived in Yorktown Heights since 1999, moving from Putnam Valley. An avid sportsman, he was passionate about golf.
Variano is survived by his father, Joseph; three children, Laura von Glahn, Bryan Variano and Erin Variano; a brother, Joseph; a sister, Pamela Scanlan; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Margery Variano.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Cargain Funeral Home in Mahopac. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak. Burial will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
