Roy A. Fields, 89, Of Yorktown Heights, Teacher In The NYC School System

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Roy A. Fields of Yorktown Heights, formerly of Crestwood, died Sept. 28. He was 89.

Fields served in the U.S. merchant marine during WWII and taught in the New York City School System for 31 years.

Fields is survived by his wife, Marguerite V. Fields; children, Deborah (Butch) Johnson, Joseph Fields, Roy (Teri) Fields, Elizabeth (Kevin) Ferry, Regis (Julie) Fields, Stephen (Barbara) Fields, William (Donna Marie) Fields, and John Fields (Eleanor Huey); siblings, Eleanor Gianfelice and Alfred Fields; 21 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Lt. Col. Elizabeth Paul, William, Clarence, and Regis Fields.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester. A Mass will be celebrated at 9:35 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Annunciation Church, Crestwood. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven.
