Samuel M. Paskin, 68, Of Mohegan Lake

MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. -- Samuel M. Paskin of Mohegan Lake died Sunday, Sept. 28. He was 68.

Paskin was raised in Manhattan, in the Yorkville section, where his parents Frances and Morris Paskin owned a pharmacy. He attended the New Lincoln School until 1964 in Manhattan, went on to Queens College graduating in 1968 and did his master's work at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., in ornithology/avian ecology.

After his marriage he moved with his wife to Mohegan Lake in 1976. He worked for the Social Security Administration for 30 years and retired 10 years ago. He was mostly based at the Peekskill office where he was the field representative.

Paskin is survived by his wife, Nancy (Miller); and sister, Ann (Paskin) Weiskopf; a nephew and two nieces; aunt, Shirley Reichman; and many cousins. 

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Yorktown Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.
