T. Niblo Creed, 100, Formerly Of Yorktown

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – T. Niblo 'Nib' Creed, formerly of Peekskill, died Oct. 29, 2015 at Vermont Respite House near Burlington, Vt., following a brief illness.

Creed was born Dec. 30, 1914 in Peekskill to William B. and Mabelle S. Creed, living in Peekskill and Yorktown Heights until retirement.

He attended Mohegan Lake Academy, Amherst College and New York University, serving in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.

After the war, Creed owned and operated Creed Bros. Lumber Company in Peekskill, Yorktown Heights, and two additional locations in upstate New York.

He retired to Vermont, but began working at Brandon Lumber at age 74, continuing until age 99 and receiving the lifetime achievement award from the Vermont Retail Lumber Dealers Association in 2009.

Creed was predeceased by his two wives, Priscilla and Carolyn, brother Richard and grandson Jeffrey Skilling.

He is survived by his children, Hope Skilling, William, Catharine Wark and Tomalyn Johnson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No service is planned at this time, and his wishes were to be cremated.
