Thomas Pignatelli, 89, Of Yorktown Heights, Owned Hot Dog Truck

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - Thomas Pignatelli of Yorktown Heights died March 25. He was 89.

Pignatelli was born April 14, 1923, in the Bronx to Josephine Marco and Vincent Pignatelli. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Josephine DiFrancia. He worked as an operating engineer for local 137 retiring in 1981. He later opened a hot dog truck on route 6 and was known as Mr. Hot Dog.

Pignatelli is survived by sons Thomas Pignatelli Jr. (Valarie) and James Pignatelli; daughters, Joann DeGregorio, Judy Castaldo and Jeryl Fontana (Fred); brother, Albert; sister, Connie; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters and six brothers.

Calling hours are Thursday March 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yorktown Funeral Home . Funeral Service is Friday March 29 at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
