Virginia 'Ginny' Rutigliano, Former Yorktown Police Dispatcher, 79

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Virginia “Ginny” Rutigliano, a former dispatcher for the Yorktown Police Department, died Thursday, March 9. She was 79.

A longtime Yorktown resident, she had lived for the past four years in Cary, Ill. Rutigliano was born in Kansas City, Mo. She served in the U.S. Army Women’s Corp. as a cryptographer.

Rutigliano was a police dispatcher in Yorktown for 20 years and also served as president of the local Civil Service Employees Association. She loved bowling. Her husband, Vito, died in 1977.

She is survived by her three children, Toni (Brad) Callahan, Dori (Brian) Abel, and Vito (Karen) Rutigliano; eight grandchildren, Shane, Tyler, Cody, Tanner, Dalton, Kavianna, Gavriella, and Vito III.

Calling hours 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, March 18, at the Clark Funeral Home, 2104 Saw Mill River Road (Route 202/35), Yorktown Heights.

Burial will be at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, 2445 Quaker Church Road, Yorktown Heights.
