Warren James Russo, 61, Former Longtime Yorktown Heights Resident

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Warren James Russo of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Yorktown Heights, died Oct. 8. He was 61.

Russo was born and raised in Yonkers, to James and Eileen (Jones) Russo. He was a longtime resident of Yorktown Heights and served as a Navy Seabee from 1971 to 1975. He was a Yonkers Firefighter for 25 years. He completed his masters degree at Mercy College. He worked for Nextel/Sprint as a manager and relocated to Overland Park when they merged, where he retired and currently resided.

Russo is survived by his wife, Susan (Lallo); children, Anthony (fiancée, Heather), Laura (fiancé, Andrew) and James; and siblings, Vincent, Michael and Eileen (Russo) Thompson. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Raymond,

Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7p.m.  to 9 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A celebration of Russo's life and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Russo may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
