18-Year-Old Charged With Marijuana Possession, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – An 18-year-old male whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday, Nov. 8, Yorktown police said.

Police were on patrol on Route 202 when they observed a vehicle cross a double yellow line, according to police. Police said the vehicle was stopped for the traffic infraction and the operator was identified as the suspect.

After an investigation, police found that the 18-year-old was unlawfully in possession of marijuana, according to police. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown police headquarters for processing. 

Following processing, the male was issued an appearance ticket and released to a responsible party and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
