YORKTOWN Heights, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old Bronx man was arrested in Mohegan Lake and charged with first-degree burglary after using an air-soft gun in a home invasion Tuesday morning, Yorktown police said.
Gregory Greenspan was arrested after residents on Kimble Avenue in Mohegan Lake found him in their home at about 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Yorktown police statement.
Officers went to the scene and took custody of Greenspan, "who was being detained inside the residence by the homeowner," according to the statement.
"(I)t's alleged that Gregory M. Greenspan and at least one other unidentified suspect unlawfully entered the Kimble Avenue residence in an attempt to steal property," according to the statement. "It's further alleged that the defendants were armed with what appeared to be a pistol and that the unidentified homeowner suffered physical injury during the incident."
It was unclear whether the weapon was used during the burglary. But it was clear that the weapon was not a pistol but a BB-gun, Yorktown Lt. Kevin Soravilla said.
Greenspan was held at the Yorktown Police Department before his hearing in Yorktown Justice Court.
