Bronx Teen Charged With Failure To Appear In Yorktown Court

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police said they arrested an 18-year-old Bronx man for failure to appear while being held at Rikers Island on another charge.

The suspect was arrested on failure to appear on a charge of second-degree harassment.

The unnamed man, was arrested last week by Yorktown Police for failure to appear in connection with a charge of second-degree harassment, said Yorktown Police Sgt. C. Scatola.

Police said that a bench warrant was issued for the man after he allegedly failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance. On Sept. 14, Yorktown Police were notified that the suspect was being held at Rikers Island on an unrelated charge. 

The man was arrested last week at the prison by Yorktown Police and transported to appear in court, before being returned to Rikers Island, Scatola said.
