Teen Stole Beer From Southeast Home, Police Say

CARMEL, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old Carmel resident has been charged in a residential burglary investigation in Southeast, state police said Saturday.

Patrick O'Keefe has been charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony, state police said.

Troopers were dispatched to a Southeast residence to investigate the report of a residential burglary on July 26. Subsequent to an investigation conducted by the State Police, it was discovered that O'Keefe had entered the victim’s home and stole beer.

O'Keefe was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail on $200 cash bail or $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to re-appear before the Town of Southeast Court on Sept. 15.
