YORKTOWN, N.Y. A Cortlandt man was arrested and charged with two felonies last week after an alleged dispute with his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall.
On June 19 at 5:30 p.m., Yorktown Police responded to the mall where it was alleged Jack Bakmezian, 20, grabbed an iPhone from the hand of his ex-girlfriend and threw it on the ground, police said. Police reports also said Bakmezian broke the passenger side front window of the victim's vehicle by punching it.
Bakmezian fled the scene, police said, but two days later responded to calls from Yorktown Police and was placed under arrest for two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, and one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony. He was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on Friday.

Illegal U-Turn: On June 26 at 4:50 p.m., Police Officer Angel Garcia was on patrol on Route 6 at the intersection of Hill Boulevard when he allegedly observed Ray Carter, 33, of Croton make an illegal U-turn in a red Ford. Further investigation revealed Carter's drivers license was suspended, police said.
He was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and unsafe turn, a traffic violation. Carter was arrested, arraigned and released on $100 bail. He is due in court July 26.
Multiple Charges: On June 20 at 8:50 p.m., Jeffrey Bailey, 31, of Peekskill was stopped for operating a vehicle with an expired registration. Further investigation revealed Bailey was operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked drivers license and without a court ordered ignition interlock device, police said.
Bailey was charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, operating a motor vehicle without ignition interlock device, a class A misdemeanor, and expired registration, a traffic violation. He was released on $100 bail and is due in court July 19.
