Teen Charged In Yorktown With Possessing LSD After Incident At School

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 16-year-old resident of Cortlandt Manor with possession of a controlled substance after an incident at a local school, according to authorities.

Police received a call Friday from the staff of the BOCES Fox Meadow Campus, 845 Fox Meadow Road, to report a student in possession of illegal drugs, according to officials.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and investigated; the suspect, a female whose name is being withheld due to her eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested for allegedly possessing a quantity of LSD while occupying a vehicle in the school parking lot, police report.

The teen was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, according to officials.

Following processing at police headquarters, the teen was issued an appearance ticket directing her to answer the charge in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, July 12, police report.

She was then released on her own recognizance to her parent, according to officials.
