WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The three County Police Officer positions recently restored to the Department of Public Safety have been filled.
The bipartisan coalition of legislators that passed the 2016 County Budget announced that the new hires are law enforcement professionals working in local municipalities. Each officer will be assigned and on patrol this summer after a period of training.
“The hiring of these three County Police Officers is a positive step toward getting our public safety staffing back to an appropriate level," Board of Legislators Chairman Mike Kaplowitz said in a statement.
