Shortly before 3 a.m. on Monday morning, firefighters were dispatched to a Central Street home, which was engulfed in flames, as heavy fire was visible shooting from the roof of the home.

On Monday afternoon, officials confirmed that the homeowners, 70-year-old Helen Ginman, and her husband, Jeffrey Ginman, 74, were the victims of the fire after being trapped inside.

It took firefighters several hours to knock down the flames before clearing the scene. Crews from Lake Mohegan, Bedford Hills, Buchanan, Mount Kisco and Millwood assisted members of the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire investigators from the Cause and Origin team are conducting an investigation, but the cause of the blaze is not believed to be suspicious, according to Yorktown police.
