CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Firefighters battled a steep, snowy incline on Wednesday to extinguish a fire that had begun in a snow plow, according to officials.

The incident was first reported about 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, said officials, who added that the scene drew a "full department response" to a building near the lower end of Mount Airy Road.

According to fire officials, firefighters found the flaming vehicle at the top of an unplowed driveway and had to climb in the icy conditions to reach it.

"Members pulled a 2 1/2 - inch hose line from Engine 119 (Washington Engine Company No. 2) some 750 feet up the hill, and attached another 100 feet of a 2-inch pack to reach the fire," officials said in a statement.

With aid from other department crews, firefighters extinguished the blaze with relative quickness. According to authorities,no injuries were reported.
