Croton Man Charged With Possession Of Marijuana In Yorktown

YORKTOWN. N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 24-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson on marijuana and traffic violations following a traffic stop on Sunday, authorities said.

The traffic stop came about when a patrol officer noticed a vehicle leaving the parking lot at 1136 E. Main Street while failing to use a designated lane and disobeying a traffic control device around 2:15 a.m., according to officials.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jonathan Zambrano, was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana, police report.

Zambrano was placed under arrest and processed at the scene; he has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to use a designated lane, all violations, according to officials.

After processing, the defendant was issued two traffic tickets and an appearance ticket, then released on his own recognizance, police report.

He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Oct. 4, according to officials.
