Drunk Driver Crashes Into Parked Cars In Yorktown, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old Yorktown man was charged with driving under the influence after he drove his vehicle into two parked cars, according to Yorktown Police.

Gerard Giblin was arrested after police received a report from a resident on Morningview Drive of an auto accident that caused property damage in the early afternoon on Tuesday, Oct. 12. When officers arrived, they found that Giblin, driving a 2002 Honda had hit the two parked cars and then fled on foot, police said.

Officers were able to track Giblin down in the area of the accident and determined that he was drunk. He was charged with driving while intoxicated aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol level of 0.18 percent, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

He was released on $100 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.
