A 43-year-old Putnam man who attempted to flee after hitting two vehicles separately on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester is facing multiple charges, state police said.
At approximately 01:35 a.m. Sunday, troopers were dispatched to a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway.
Edwin C. David of Carmel, who was traveling northbound, rear-ended a vehicle and then while attempting to flee, side-swiped a second vehicle, state police from the Hawthorne barracks said.
An investigation determined David was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
He was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury automobile accident, a Class A misdemeanor, and driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.
David is due to appear in Town of Greenburgh Court on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
