YORKTOWN, N.Y. A 6-year-old girl attending a birthday party in Yorktown is reportedly in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center after a near drowning incident Friday afternoon.
At about 12:30 p.m., Yorktown Police and Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded to a call of a drowning victim at 1240 Rustic Ridge at Clover Ridge Estates. Aid was administered to the girl at the scene after she was pulled out of the swimming pool prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
The girl, who lives in the Bronx and was not identified by police, was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center and was subsequently transferred to Westchester Medical Center.
Police said the pool was occupied by others when the girl was found at the bottom of the pool. aN investigation is continuing.
