Ryan McCullough, 21, of 511 Fox Run Lane, is accused of trying to force his way through the door of a Saw Mill River Road home during a failed burglary attempt on the afternoon of March 31, according to Yorktown police.

Police said they were called to the scene by a woman who witnessed the break-in attempt. McCullough was seen running from the home and arrested outside of 245 Underhill Ave. about two hours later, according to police.

While conducting the investigation, police crossed paths with Anthony A. Jackson, 28, of Carmel, who is accused of possessing marijuana, according to police.

Whether Jackson was involved in the alleged break-in attempt was unclear, but police said he was "allegedly located in the vicinity of the residence in question."

McCullough was arraigned in Yorktown Town Court, where he was charged with second-degree attempted burglary. He was taken to the Westchester County Jail, where he was held without bail. He is to return to court at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Jackson was arrested, ticketed and released without bail. He faces a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and is to appear in Yorktown Town Court at 6 p.m. on April 28.
