A Jefferson Valley man is facing an assault charge after a domestic dispute turned physical and he allegedly punched his victim several times in the face, according to police in Yorktown.
Officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to a Jefferson Valley home at approximately 11:22 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, where there was a report of a domestic incident involving two parties.
Following an investigation, police said it’s alleged that Phillip Salamacha, 42, pushed his victim to the ground, and punched his victim several times in the face with a closed fist, “intentionally causing physical injury, swelling and substantial pain.”
Salamacha was arrested at the scene and charged with a misdemeanor count of third-degree assault. Following processing, Salamacha is being held at the Yorktown Police Department pending arraignment in Yorktown Justice Court.
