Lakefront Structure Fire In Mahopac Quickly Contained

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Emergency responders quickly converged to a structure at Birch Boulevard in the Ossi Club lakefront section of Mahopac on Saturday after a report of a "fire in the wall."

The Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department sent out a pumper/tanker out of Station No. 2 and pumper/tanker along with a heavy rescue out of headquarters.

First arriving units, along with Carmel Police, found fire confined to the area around the chimney, according to authorities.

Chief Jeff Boyle was incident command and ordered all other equipment to stand by at their stations.

Carmel Police and Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Police provided scene safety, keeping concerned friends and neighbors at a safe distance, authorities said.
