Mahopac Man, 30, Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teen Girl

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man has been arrested on charges that he sexually abused a 14-year-old girl in his home, according to Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.

Daniel G. Moloney, Jr., 30, is accused of allegedly victimizing the girl, described as a family friend, police said.

Based upon the girl's allegations, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for Moloney’s home on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The next day, Moloney surrendered at the Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by his attorney. 

Moloney  is facing two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and one count of criminal sexual act in the first degree. If found guilty, he faces up to 25 years in jail.

He is currently free on $40,000 bail.
