The arrest came about after two officers assigned to narcotics enforcement observed a grey 2001 Subaru operating at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain a designated lane on East Main Street on Thursday, June 2, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police report.
A traffic stop was initiated, and an investigation at the scene revealed that the operator of the vehicle, identified as Edward J. Snow, was allegedly driving with his ability impaired by drugs, according to officials.
Snow was also allegedly in possession of a quantity of heroin, police report.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters for processing, according to officials.
He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs first offense, an unclassified misdemeanor, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, speeding and failing to use a designated lane, both traffic infractions, police report.
Snow was issued summonses and released to a responsible party on $100 cash bail, according to officials.
He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Monday, June 13, police report.
