Mahopac Man Charged With Grand Larceny In Yorktown Car Theft

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y.  – Thomas Spydale, a 41-year-old Mahopac resident, was charged Friday in the theft of car from a supermarket parking lot, according to Yorktown police.

Police said they received a call from a patron of the Valley Market who reported that her car was just stolen. She gave a description of the vehicle and an officer while responding to the scene, encountered the vehicle, police said. A short pursuit ensued and the suspect left the vehicle abandoned on Benjamin Blvd fleeing on foot, police said. A short time later the suspect was apprehended on Gregory Street, police said.

Spydale was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony,

Spydale was arraigned by a judge who remanded him to the Westchester County Jail with no bail to appear in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, May 12 at 6 p.m.
