Mahopac Man Uses Vehicle Without Interlock Device, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man was charged with multiple traffic violations, including operating his vehicle without an interlock device, after a car accident on Route 35 Friday.

August Joseph Wines, 42, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock device, a misdemeanor, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and driving on the shoulder, all violations.

Following the accident, Wines was transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where he was arrested and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on May 11.
