Man, 22, Arrested On Traffic Infractions, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Nicholas Graefe, a 22-year-old resident of upstate Lyons Falls, N.Y., has been arrested and charged by Yorktown police with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and an uninsured motor vehicle on Sunday, Dec. 7, according to police.

Police said that an officer was on patrol and operating the Elsag Mobile Plate Reader when it detected a 2013 Dodge pickup truck was traveling with a suspended registration. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Graefe, police said. An investigation at the scene also revealed that Graefe’s New York State license was suspended and the vehicle was uninsured, police said.

Graefe was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Following processing, Graefe was issued a traffic summons in reference to the charges and released on $100 bail. Graefe is scheduled to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at 6 p.m.
