YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – A 50-year-old Ossining man was arrested Friday for allegedly using a tow truck to steal two parked cars in front of Absolute Flooring at 1735 Front St.

Yorktown police responded to the building Thursday afternoon after a business owner reported two Ford Escorts had been towed from the property without permission. The total value of the cars was $3,000, police said.

Det. Brian Shanahan led an investigation and he said Keith Hoyt towed the Escorts away from the building around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The following evening, Hoyt voluntarily turned himself in and was charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. He was arraigned by Town Justice Gary Raniolo and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail. Hoyt is scheduled to return to Yorktown Court Thursday.
