Man Charged After He Steals Purse, Credit Card, Yorktown Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Nicholas A. Dellabate, a Putnam Valley resident, has been charged with petit larceny by Yorktown police after he allegedly stole a purse from a Hess Gas Station, a credit card and forged a credit card receipt on Thursday, Dec. 4, according to Yorktown police.

Police said a call was received from a patron at the Hess Gas Station on 3911 Crompond Road, reporting a larceny. Officers were dispatched to the scene and conducted an investigation which revealed that a purse containing a wallet and $200 in cash was stolen from a vehicle at the gas station, police said.

Further investigation revealed that Dellabate stole the property, police said. The investigation also revealed that Dellabate possessed a credit card which was stolen from a resident in Cortlandt and forged the credit card receipt, police said.

Police said Dellabate was arrested at Yorktown Justice Court, where he was appearing on an unrelated charge. Following processing on the charges, Dellabate was arraigned by a judge who remanded him to the Westchester County Jail on $15,000 bail. Dellabate is scheduled to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
