YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Miguel O. Fierro, a 34-year-old Peekskill resident, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after crashing his car on the side of the road on Friday, according to Yorktown police.
Police said an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Route 202 and Springhurst Street on the report of a vehicle on the side of the road and a subject sitting next to it.
Upon arrival and with further investigation, the officer found out that the vehicle had gone off the roadway and struck a snow embankment.
Fierro was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown police department for processing. Fierro was found to have a blood alcohol level content of .08 percent or greater, a misdemeanor.
He was also charged with disregard of a traffic control device, a traffic infraction; failure to use a designated lane, a traffic infraction; and unlicensed operator.
Following processing, Fierro posted $300 bail, was issued an appearance ticket and released to a friend. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on April 7, at 6 p.m.
