New York State Police from the Somers station arrested Frank J. Mayer, 54, Carmel, on Nov. 13, on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a class E felony.

Troopers stopped a Subaru traveling on Route 202 for speeding. While interviewing the operator of the vehicle, who identified himself as Mayer, troopers observed clues that indicated he was intoxicated at the time of the stop, police said.

Mayer was charged with felony driving while intoxicated when a record check revealed that he was convicted of DWI in 2008.

Mayer gave a breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent. Mayer was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in Somers Town Court on Monday, Nov. 30.
